2008 Gift Guide

Around this time of year I become obsessed with gift guides (as well as everything else to do with the holidays) so this year, I decided to make my own...

For All: Head scratcher, who doesn't want one of those? Retro Digital watch; I've been really into the way these digital watches look lately, especially paired with really relaxed, yet sharp looking clothes...it's definitely on my wish list. Bubble wrap necklace/key chain - traveling, re-usable bubble wrap, it's almost too good to be true. Under New Management T - a creative, and very soft, spin on the traditional political T-shirt, I dig it.

For Her: Breakfast At Tiffanys sleep mask - although it's completely trite, all girls love Breakfast at Tiffanys, what's an easier way to make her feel like Audrey? "Best Fucking Friends" heart necklace; a funny twist on a classic that any best fucking friend will appreciate, Marc Jacobs hair accessories; I am really into the zipper trend and think this hairband and hair tie are really cool and smart, Acne knee socks - great color combination, and they do the layering for you, Miss New York scarf - this scarf isn't only for New Yorkers, it comes in a variety of states in select Kate Spade stores, Pansy stacking ring; I covet this delicate stack of rings, they're a great, slightly more intimate, choice of gift, pink fisheye camera - great for the amateur photographer who prefers appearance over quality, Jack Spade mustache gloves; although these gloves are meant for men I think they're much cuter, not to mention sillier, for girls

For Him: In God We Trust beanies: for the more modern, fashion forward kind of guy, Leather bifold wallet - simple, clean, and manly, iPod speaker attachment for his bike, blanket with sleeves (very useful), pinhole camera kit - it looks cool and gives him a sense of accomplishment, gloves with dots on the finger tips allowing him to use his iPod without freezing his fingers

Wedding Feet

I love these untraditonal wedding photos; don't you feel like you can tell, just by looking at their feet, exactly what their weddings were like? Footwear is so telling.

My New Favorite Fall Trends

I love these new fall trends - droopy, long crotched pants and over sized fur vests. I need to hop on the bandwagon...

LOLO and the Squids

Within the eclectic, warm home of Christina and Swain Hutson - the designers of Obedient Sons & Daughters - there is most perfect, adorable, little girl's room I have ever seen. I am so jealous of their daughter, Lowe, who gets to live in it.

Jeans From Teens is a non-profit organization, founded by yours truly, whose mission is to recycle used jeans and send them anywhere on this planet they are needed. Denim is a fabric that transcends all cultures. It never wears out, in fact, it gets better with age. It flatters everyone. Hundreds of thousands of pairs are bought, worn, worn in, outgrown and then sadly discarded every year. We figured why not collect them and offer them to those in need. For my information/to donate jeans/ if you know somewhere that's in need, click the link above.

1950's Vintage Baby Clothes

I found these precious baby clothes at Garment District in Cambridge, MA. I am going to have a baby someday...

Hidden Brilliance: Margaret Harris

North Carolina raised, Brooklyn artist, Margaret Harris, is an unknown (don't ask me why) painter who specializes in the baroque style. Since I live directly across the street from her I've had the privilege of growing up amongst her work and I am thankful everyday.

Christian Siriano!

Christian Siriano, winner of last season's Project Runway, showed at Byrant Park this week. I personally feel that this is the most impressive show I've seen from a PR winner, and, I am not surprised.
